Privacy policy.

Plain-language version of what data I collect, why, and what you can do about it. The legal substance follows the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and aligns with GDPR practices where relevant.

Who I am

Stenson Digital is a sole trader business operated by Elliot Stenson, based in Melbourne, Australia (ABN pending registration). Contact: hello@stensondigital.com.au. I am the data controller for any personal information you share via this site.

What I collect, and when

I deliberately keep data collection minimal. Specifically:

  • Contact form submissions — your name, email, business URL (if you give one), and the message you sent. Handled by Web3Forms; forwarded to my inbox.
  • Discovery call bookings — handled by Calendly. They collect your name, email, and any details you enter in the booking form. Calendly's privacy policy applies to that interaction.
  • Anonymous analytics — Google Analytics 4 collects standard usage data (page views, referrers, device type, country-level location). IP addresses are anonymised at collection time.
  • Server logs — Cloudflare (the host) logs basic request metadata (IP, user agent, timestamp) for security and abuse-prevention purposes, retained ~30 days.

I do not collect special-category data (health, race, sexuality, etc.) and I do not run advertising trackers or behavioural profiling.

What I use it for

  • To reply to your enquiry — if you submit the contact form or book a call, I'll use your email to respond.
  • To understand what content is useful — analytics tells me which pages people read and where they leave. I do not link analytics data to personal identifiers.
  • To protect the site — Cloudflare logs help block abuse and malicious traffic.

I do not sell your data. I do not share it with third parties beyond the processors named above (Web3Forms, Calendly, Google Analytics, Cloudflare). I do not use your contact details for unsolicited marketing.

How long I keep it

  • Contact form submissions: kept in my inbox indefinitely unless you ask for deletion.
  • Calendly bookings: kept for the lifetime of my Calendly account or until I or you delete them.
  • Google Analytics: 14-month retention setting (their minimum useful default).
  • Cloudflare logs: ~30 days, then auto-purged.

Your rights

Under Australian privacy law (and broadly under GDPR if you're in the EU/UK), you can:

  • Ask me what personal information I hold about you
  • Ask me to correct it if it's wrong
  • Ask me to delete it
  • Withdraw consent for processing where applicable
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au) if you're unhappy with how I've handled your data

Cookies and similar

This site uses minimal cookies:

  • One theme preference cookie (technically localStorage.theme, not a cookie) stored in your browser only. It remembers if you toggled light or dark mode. Never sent to me.
  • Google Analytics sets its standard _ga cookies for anonymous session tracking.
  • Calendly sets cookies on its booking page (only loaded when you visit /contact).

Changes to this policy

If I change this policy meaningfully, I'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and call out what changed. Minor wording fixes happen without notice.
